SMARTCITY × TOKYO -2025 SPRING MEETING-
In order to get more people interested in smart cities, we held the second “SMARTCITY×TOKYO” event this year on Tuesday, February 4th.
Like the previous event, this year’s event was held in a hybrid format (in-person and online), and in addition to presentations of initiatives related to Tokyo and panel discussions by experts, there were talk sessions introducing projects and an exhibition of the latest smart services, and a networking session was held for in-person participants after the event.

Program Overview
Introduction and talk session for Smart Tokyo-related projects
A total of eight people from four companies and three organizations took to the stage to present their initiatives, introducing examples of smart city promotion in their respective regions, and in the talk session, they introduced examples of initiatives led by local communities, such as a project to support the lives of people with disabilities, and discussed Shibuya Ward’s project to promote data collaboration activities. Visitors were also highly interested in the latest trends in smart cities, listening intently to the talks and were even seen taking notes on their PCs.

Panel discussion
The panel discussion looked at the future of smart cities to realize sustainable mobility. The latest advances in mobility technology and the current state of social implementation were examined, and the changes that new mobility solutions will bring to people’s lives and urban activities were explored. In addition, the roles that government and city managers must play and the challenges they face in realizing smart mobility were discussed. In particular, the development of hard and soft infrastructure and improving social acceptance through collaboration with Tokyo residents were cited as important issues.
