Keynote Session

Opening the Future of Cities through SusHi Tech from Tokyo

Vice Governor Miyasaka took the stage and, using the slogan “SusHi Tech Tokyo,” spoke about Tokyo’s urban infrastructure technologies that can respond to climate change, Tokyo’s efforts to make its smart city sustainable and resilient, and the importance of open innovation between cities.

“SusHi Tech Tokyo” will use cutting-edge technology, a wide variety of ideas, and digital know-how to create “sustainable new value” that will overcome common urban issues around the world. Tokyo will send a message to the world that SusHi Tech Tokyo (the new value it creates) can help cities around the world update themselves to become sustainable cities that will be passed on to future generations, leaving no one behind.

At the event, the Vice Governor introduced the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s efforts to support startups and shared information such as expectations for startups to address challenges in Tokyo, and also sought to form a network through pitches by local startups.
