SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025 Participation Results Report

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Bureau of Digital Services is implementing a wide range of measures to realize “Smart Tokyo,” which aims to improve the quality of life (QOL) of Tokyo residents through the power of digital technology. In order to disseminate these efforts both domestically and internationally, we exhibited at “SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025,” one of Asia’s largest startup conferences, held at Tokyo Big Sight, and held a networking event to deepen exchanges between people involved in smart cities both in Japan and overseas.

Exhibition at “SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025”
The Digital Services Bureau set up a booth in the All Japan Ecosystem Area, promoting the “Smart Tokyo” initiative by introducing areas and services within Tokyo that are promoting smart cities through pamphlets and videos. The booth also focused on areas that Tokyo residents can easily relate to, and provided interactive experiences and other multifaceted approaches, such as exhibiting cutting-edge services implemented by nimble startups, allowing visitors to experience the appeal of digital services.

Stage Announcement
On Saturday, May 10th, the public day, the event was themed around “Leveraging the latest information technology to create a digital, convenient, and comfortable city called ‘Smart Tokyo.'” Startups providing implementation support through “Be Smart Tokyo” gave presentations on their initiatives, including promoting open innovation in collaboration with local governments and other organizations, and providing innovative services through startup support.

“SMART CITY TOKYO Global Networking Night 2025”
As a partner event of “SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025,” we held “SMART CITY TOKYO Global Networking Night 2025,” a networking event for smart city players from Japan and abroad, in addition to promoting Tokyo’s smart city initiatives to the world.

Networking session
The event introduced the “Smart Tokyo” initiative being promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and featured lectures by experts on the future and possibilities of Tokyo’s smart cities. In addition, the event featured case studies in the exhibition corner from companies and area businesses promoting smart cities in various areas of Tokyo, as well as services from startup companies that are providing implementation support through “Be Smart Tokyo.”
    Guests from 15 countries and regions around the world participated, and over 200 people shared their knowledge about the current state of smart cities in Tokyo and around the world for approximately two hours, actively exchanging opinions about the future, and other topics.
